Cleaning End of tenancy cleaning London Professional Cleaning Services
By Kiril Natov 21 October 2025

Why is it very difficult to find a cleaning service company?

How are professional cleaners so fast?

The reason great professional cleaners work so fast is because they have a system that they abide by. They have a set routine that allows them to gain maximum success such as starting at the top and working their way down. They will usually start upstairs, most commonly in the bathroom. They start here because they can leave the toilet and anything that needs it to soak while they complete the rest and come back to rinse at the end. They work from the walls downwards so that the last thing in each room to be cleaned is the flooring, starting upstairs also allows them to bring rubbish and dirt down with them so that the clean flooring upstairs won’t need to be walked on again minimising the need to rewash. Once downstairs they will start in the most problematic room again this being the kitchen. Pre-soaking any appliances such as the oven or kettle to give the dirt time to lift while other areas can be completed. Using the same principle as upstairs ensuring that every surface is clean and then finishing again with the flooring working their way to finish at the exit door taking all rubbish with them.

How much do cleaning companies charge clients?

When professional cleaning companies charge for their cleaning services there are many factors they consider before giving you their best available price, Factors such as which type of clean you require whether it be After builders, Deep End of Tenancy Cleaning, Spring cleaning, Upholstery cleaning, Steam Carpet cleaning or a regular cleaning. All of these services come with a different pricing. If the cleaning company charges by the hour it can range from £13 to £25 per hour. They may have a set charge for the size of the property, this means that the bigger the property the higher the price they will charge. Most great cleaning companies will sort out the pricing before they agree to clean ensuring that there are no hidden charges at the end. In the rare case that there may be extra charges they should contact you to discuss before any further cleaning goes ahead.

What is the best way to find a cleaner?

The best way to find a trusted professional cleaner is by word of mouth, recommendations from friends and family give you the peace of mind that someone you already know and trust has received the services from the cleaning company already. This means that you could even go and see for yourself the results of their cleaning before deciding to use them in your own home. Other ways to check whether a cleaning company is the best is on websites online such as checkatrade and google. We would always advise doing some research on the company before vomiting to book them, checking their webpage to see what qualifications their cleaners have and what level of training they have received. On any true professional cleaning website you should be able to view before and after photos of their work, this is a cleaning company’s trophy case. It’s their way of showing off their work and is the best way to entice new customers to use them for their cleaning needs.

Why is it so hard to find a cleaner?

The main reason it can be difficult to find a great cleaning company is simply due to shortage in cleaners, not many people want to clean for a living so cleaning companies struggle to find candidates that want to clean. The wage is fair however cleaning is not one of the best paid jobs on the market. Some cleaning jobs require the cleaners to provide their own cleaning equipment too; this makes it expensive to do for a job if the pay back isn’t rewarding enough, not to mention the need for transport to the properties; this can also add to the outgoings for cleaners. From the customers’ side of things, finding a trustworthy cleaning company can be time consuming. Spending time researching which company can provide the right service and at times that fit around daily life can be challenging. Once you find a professional cleaning company in London it’s best to pay fairly and tip where it is deserved and possible, this helps cleaners continue to offer the best cleaning service that they can.

Cleaners you can trust when leaving your flat for a cleaning

What to consider before hiring a maid

Always run a background check, ensure to check exactly who it is that you’re hiring. Make sure that they have qualifications in all types of cleaning and can provide proof of their training in using different cleaning products on multiple types of surfaces. A well trusted and qualified cleaner will be able to provide photos of their previous work. Also make sure that the maid has insurance, you need to be assured that if any  damages from their cleaning is fully covered by their insurance. Lastly, know their rates, be clear on the prices for the cleaning service your booking and be certain to ask if there is any chance for hidden costs. The last thing you want is for the cleaning to have been complete and then the price have gone up for some reason, most cleaners will contact you during the clean if there is an increase in price for any reason to confirm you are happy for them to continue with the clean.

Advantages of leaving the house when the maid comes

There are many advantages to leaving the property when the maid is cleaning. Firstly you can leave and get on with your day, you are not tied to being home so any plans you have do not need to be moved or changed. This allows your focus to be elsewhere instead of waiting and worrying about the things you could be getting done. When the maid is left we find that 9 times out of 10 they will clean faster and more efficiently when they don’t have you home waiting for them to finish, It also gives them space to get the cleaning done without you being in the way and making for awkward conversation if they need you to leave a room so they can complete the clean.

Disadvantages to leaving the house when the maid comes

There are unfortunately some disadvantages to leaving the property when the maid comes to clean, this includes not being able to check up on the work as they are completing it. If you are home during the clean it allows you to check the cleaning as they complete it raising any concerns while the maid is still there. Secondly This will eliminate any miscommunications also, ensuring that the maid knows what is to be cleaned and what is not to be cleaned. If you were to leave the maid may end up cleaning rooms that were not originally agreed thus resulting in additional charges. Thirdly leaving the property means that you will not have the opportunity to get to know the maid and this means that you will not build a bond with them, this can be useful for recurring maids as they will learn how you like the cleaning to be complete and you would then also be able to build a friendship with trust ensuring that you and the maid feel completely comfortable with each other.

Building trust with your maid

It’s very important to build trust with your maid, the best way to achieve this is to be clear of your expectations. This sends a clear understanding of the level of service you expect to receive and will eliminate any disappointment once the clean has been completed. Always be respectful, show the same level of respect that you would expect from them, although you are paying them for a service it’s always best to be kind. Lastly, always give feedback good and bad as the bad is what helps them to improve in their service. A true professional will always welcome all feedback and welcome feedback that can help them become better at their job.

Choosing the best maid service

When choosing a maid be sure to take all of the above into consideration, following these tips can help you find the most efficient and qualified maid available. Once you have found the maid suitable you can start to build a relationship with them and hopefully continue to use the same maid over and over again for professional cleaning, eliminating the need to go through this process again.

How To Get Your Rented House Professionally Cleaned?

When renting a home, you have a responsibility to take good care of the property, which includes looking after furnishing and keeping the property as clean as possible. Still, if you find it hard to keep on top of it, we recommend having a professional deep clean. This will ensure that your landlord stays happy and that your deposit is fully returned at the end of your tenancy. Any stains, marks, mould, etc., could result in a lousy reference from your landlord, too, which is not ideal if you are hoping to go into more rented accommodation and on top of these reasons – nothing feels better than having a sparkling clean home. We find that no one can clean your home better than an expert.

How to Choose the Right Cleaning Company

First and foremost, we recommend choosing a professional cleaning company with a good reputation. You must feel safe with new people coming into your home, so please do not book anywhere without considering the company’s reviews – they do not all have to be outstanding, as there will always be people complaining. Still, a good cleaning company should have a majority of positive reviews.

You can try looking on the internet or asking family and friends for recommendations, and you should also check the company is insured. The cleaners are fully trained – feel free to ask the booking assistant any such questions and remember to let them know if you have nearby parking, as sometimes this can be an extra cost if you don’t. After this, you must consider what is important to you regarding professional cleaning. Some things to think about are;

  • What type of products the company uses – is it important to you that they are economically friendly or natural and safe for pets and children? If so, check out the website to find out if this is important to them, too, or you can always call them and ask which products they will use on your property.
  • Timings – it is probably easier that children and pets are not around when the cleaners are working, so you will need to find a company that can fit you in a convenient time for you. Depending on the size and condition of your property, the deep cleaning could take from a couple of hours to most of the day.
  • Tailoring – some cleaning companies will tailor the cleaning to your needs. Perhaps you do not need every room cleaned, and they can consider this when quoting you. You may want some extras included, such as external window cleaning or carpet cleaning (which is explained more below).

What should a Professional Clean should include?

After a professional deep clean, there should not be a speck of dirt or dust in sight, and your home will feel brand new again. What is included in the price of a deep clean can vary from company to company, so it’s best to have a look around before booking, but in general, the below should all be included as the standard option:

Kitchen – The kitchen is a massive part of a deep clean. All appliances, including the oven, hob, extractor fan, washing machine and fridge, should be thoroughly scrubbed, and sinks, cupboards and floors should all be cleaned too. Any limescale or mould should be removed. The defrosting of the freezer can often be an extra charge, so it’s a good idea to get this done before the cleaners arrive, and then they will usually clean inside the freezer, too.

Bathroom/s – The toilets, sinks and taps, baths and showers should be cleaned so that there is no sign of any dirt, limescale or bacteria left. Any other surfaces in the bathroom, including the floor and windows or mirrors, should also be wiped clean. If you have a removable shower curtain, this should also be washed.

Interior rooms (living room, bedrooms, dining room, studies, etc.) should be thoroughly dusted from the light fixtures to the skirting boards, including tables, chairs, sofas, etc. Doors and door handles, electrical sockets and wardrobes should all be polished. Whilst carpets are not usually cleaned, the cleaners should vacuum carpets and upholstery (sofas, cushions, and mattresses) with a high-quality vacuum cleaner. Any hard flooring should be steam cleaned. All internal windows should be cleaned, but there is usually an extra cost for the external windows.

Carpets

Dirty, stained, or discoloured carpets are one of the most common causes of tenants not receiving their deposit back in total, but they are generally not included in the price of a deep or end-of-tenancy clean. So, if your carpets also need cleaning, a good cleaning company can provide this alongside the rest of the cleaning (usually at an extra cost). Professional carpet cleaners should be able to test your carpet to determine what type of material it is made from and then use machinery and products best suited for that type of carpet.

Using the wrong products or machinery on the nasty carpet can do more harm than good, so it is always best to check that the technician is fully trained and qualified. Steam cleaning is usually the best option for cleaning carpets, but when this cannot be used, dry cleaning is a great alternative. Some carpet cleaning professionals can even repair damage or discolouration by cutting out the damaged section of the carpet and glueing down a new piece of carpet which has been precisely fabric and colour matched to the rest of the carpet. Your landlord will never be able to spot it. This is great to remember if you have any heat damage or irreversible stains.

How often should you get a professional deep clean of your home?

How often you should have a professional deep clean depends mainly on how much cleaning you do in between professional cleans and how many people and/or pets live in the home. Generally, once or twice a year should be plenty, but some people will have three or four professional cleans in a year. Once you look around and start to see grime and dirt, it’s probably time to call in the cavalry.

As described as necessary above, we have brilliant reviews and offer a customer satisfaction guarantee. How To Get Rid Of Cigarette Smell?

However, when leaving the house, well you handle cleaning, if you smoke or you often guests smokers, you face another problem. The impregnated smell of cigarette smoke! When cleaning with strong detergents, the scent will indeed be gone, but this is not enough. The smoke of cigarettes tends to drench everywhere, not only in textiles but also in furniture, even through walls. Airing is not doing enough work. It is, therefore, necessary to take extraordinary measures. And what exactly they may be, you will find below some helpful tips on getting rid of cigarette smell.

Start with the smell of the cigarette smoke on the soft furnishings and carpets.

Spray them with a solution of water and lemon juice in a ratio of 2:1. You can remove The smell of cigarette smoke on leather sofas by wiping with a towel soaked in a solution of vodka and water. For floor mats, you can use the familiar trick of baking soda – sprinkle, let it stay one night and clear with a vacuum cleaner.

Curtains, drapery, and tablecloths are the most vulnerable textile elements to traces of cigarette smoke. It’s like we deliberately exhaled cigarette smoke directly into them. On the other hand, they are the easiest to refresh. If you smell smoke on them, you only need to wash them in the washing machine, adding enough aromatic fabric softener.

Wood furniture – tables, chairs, dressers, shelves – get rid of cigarette smoke smell by cleaning them thoroughly with detergent for polished wood. Then repeat with a soft cloth dampened with fabric softener.

The smell of smoking will disappear if you leave bowls of citrus juice in several places in the room. Instead, the intrusive cigarette smoke in the room will remain a fresh, pleasant scent.

You can use charcoal if you are annoyed by acidic odours and/or intolerant. You’ll find it in pharmacies. How to apply? Place the charcoal on the ground in the room’s corners and give it time to work through the night. In principle, the method is quite effective, but if there are still traces of smoke in the morning, repeat the procedure several nights.

How to get rid of the cigarette smell with the scent of vanilla?

If you are vanilla, there’s another way to eliminate the cigarette smell. Soak a few cotton swabs with vanilla extract and put them in different positions in the room. Suppose you have vanilla pods. Even better. Break at least two and put them in place of tampons. Both methods work flawlessly.

You don’t have vanilla, or you do not like its scent? Well, nothing is lost yet. Repeat the procedure above, but deploy bags of coarsely ground coffee this time. After a while, there will be no memory of odours.

Another option is the use of a scented candle. Light one or two such candles and leave them to burn. This trick is quite common and known not by accident. The reason is that the flame absorbs the smoke of cigarettes. We don’t need to explain the residual pleasant smell. It is understood. Just be careful when choosing scents. Buy those that are either neutral or at least not sweet. Why? The result won’t be satisfying because you’ll get a mixed odour of cigarettes and candles. The best bet is candles with citrus fragrance. The method of flame you can use not only after smoking but at the moment when it happens.

Can’t you control yourself and light a cigarette while cleaning before leaving the house?

It is understandable, though quitting smoking is not accidentally so tricky. But how not to lose the success that you have achieved so far? The safest way is to satisfy your nicotine cravings on the balcony. If you don’t like the idea, at least put a unique aroma in an ashtray. There you’ll find it in most stores. If it is too late to go shopping (the cigarette is already smoking), there are several options to absorb the tobacco smell.

  • The first way is to put an air freshener in the ashtray. You can put a pad soaked in vinegar. The problem is that the acidic odour can spoil the pleasure of the cigarette. Don’t say, “What the hell?” and don’t remove the cotton because your work will go down the drain.
  • The second method to neutralise cigarette smoke is for cat owners. However, your dear pets tease you, have ruined the furniture, etc. They will now be accommodating. Put a few stones or granules of the cat litter in the ashtray. It will successfully neutralise the smell. Here’s a freshener, which you can’t find in shops ☺

You’ve already lit a cigarette and have a freshener in the ashtray, but you’re still worried about the smoke and how far it will spread. The trick that probably didn’t come to your mind is to stick masking tape on the doors. Let’s see now how cigarette smoke will penetrate the whole house! Keep calm. You’ve got this 😉

So, we think we have already given you some good ideas for eliminating the cigarette smell in your home. Don’t forget that if you need professional help, we will provide you with our end-of-tenancy cleaning service. Just go to our service page and learn more about it.

Eco Cleaning London – Premium Clean Cares For You And Nature

More and more of our lives are affected by another convenience – eco products. We find them in food products, textiles, and office supplies. Increasingly popular are also eco-cleaning detergents. Initially, they were costly, and we considered them a luxury. Over time, that changed and now they are almost obligatory for any self-respecting man in its London eco cleaning.

Let’s discuss detergents in particular. In Premium Clean, we use only eco ones, no matter what cleaning area is going on – carpet or end-of-tenancy cleaning. Also, we recommend that you have them at home for daily cleaning hygiene. We know that the decision to switch to “green” products is not taken just like that, so we will briefly explain your benefits and will explain what you the pros and cons. However, the decision remains yours.

But consider – professionals at Premium Clean trust eco-cleaning products and achieve great results with them, so it may be worth it, and you should try.

Modern eco-cleaning materials, whether mechanical, professional or just daily sanitation, are clean safe for you, your family and your pets. And all this in no way reduces their effectiveness – why else would famous and respected London cleaning companies trust them?

Isn’t it great – a single tool able to deal successfully with dirt, even stubborn cases, and simultaneously so gentle to you and your loved ones? This tool is “green.” Safe for human health and animals. It doesn’t compete with other products that are also uncompromising to dust and stains, except they contain all sorts of chemicals in their composition.

How many of these substances are dangerous and can harm you by causing allergic reactions? Many and probably much more that we don’t even suspect. You don’t have to worry about such things with eco-cleaning products, and that’s why they’re so unique – they clean to a shine and don’t hide any health risks. Useful, don’t you think, especially regarding babies and young children?

Environmentally friendly products using the most advanced technologies.

They don’t only spare the health but also don’t use harmful, powerful chemical agents that can damage the surfaces of the cleaned object.

Let’s take, for example, the carpets because they are relatively difficult to clean. To deal with stubborn stains, we try all the products on the market. We often have to – until we find an effective product for the stain. Still, cautious homemakers would take at least a look at the label – to check what substances the detergent contains. And it’s great if they don’t find harmful health agents. They buy it and are determined to try it out on the carpet. Then, however, begin the unpleasant surprises. We are often unaware of the fabric’s characteristics that we’ll clean, nor with the product itself. When you meet such unacceptable conditions, the result is plain – fibres lighten or lose their strength … Generally speaking – the carpet is ruined.

We gave the carpet, for example. But the same applies to cleaning furniture, textiles and other surfaces. Every time you clean them, you risk damaging them. Except in the case when you use eco products, of course. Then, such risks do not exist.

Green cleaning products are suitable for cleaning grills, ovens and stoves.

We talked about allergic reactions that ordinary detergents can cause during cleaning. Now let’s pay attention to the consequences of such cleaning, especially for sanitation in places where we store food. One is to ventilate the room after a good cleaning with hazardous substances – most of them will “leave” the room. Another matter is when these substances are in the fridge or the oven rack – they can’t evaporate. They sit and wait to get into our food. Once this happens, an allergy is the most minor problem. Poisoning and toxic shock may occur. Scared? Then let’s think more next time!

Eco products can be used as fresheners.

What would cleaning be if it didn’t leave pleasant and fresh fragrance that will linger for a long time?! We usually use additional fresheners that we spray in a room. The disadvantage is that, as heavier than air, the fragrant droplets fall quickly and the pleasant aroma scatters briefly. Another negativity is the harmful aerosols which similar fresheners contain.

Well, you can forget all about them. You only need to use eco-friendly detergents. You will not only get the desired shine, but you will enjoy a wonderful fresh scent. It will remain in the room long after you’ve forgotten that you cleaned. And another thing – these scents are entirely natural and therefore safe.

“Green” cleaning products are made from organic and biodegradable materials.

Do you need an example of natural materials? Vinegar, bicarbonate soda (baking soda), lemon – do you think they somehow harm nature? Of course not. They don’t spread aerosols that violate ozone, and they don’t release harsh chemicals that get deposited and accumulate in the environment. Everything is clean!

We don’t know whether you are persuaded to use eco products in your cleanings, but certainly, we gave you food for thought. We also want to remind you that you can clean with “green” products. You can hire Premium Clean for professional cleaning services if you don’t have them. We are green! We believe that everything should not just be clean but eco-friendly and sanitised! We offer carpet cleaning services, end-of-tenancy and upholstery cleaning with entirely green products.

At Premium Clean, we care for you and the environment!

How to Clean With Toothpaste

As you all know, everyone cleans their teeth with toothpaste, so it’s a product available in every home. But did you know there are many exciting uses for toothpaste that you may never have even dreamed of?

These ideas on how to use toothpaste are so simple and effective, and let’s face it, it isn’t the most expensive product in the world. You don’t even have to use a massive brand of toothpaste. A simple mild abrasive, a surfactant (detergent), and an antibacterial agent make toothpaste a potent stain-fighter. But try to Stick with standard paste, not a gel, as they are more effective.

Here are some ideas for cleaning with toothpaste:

  1. This one will change the lives of Mums and Dads everywhere. Children love to express themselves in many ways, and Drawing and making their masterpieces is one of their favourites. However, it’s not always in the places you would agree on. The crayon on your lovely beige-painted wall is probably not one of the places you Both agreed on. Crayon, being a wax, is to some extent Waterproof and can be Tough getting off without ruining the paint. Well, if you Gently dab some Toothpaste with a Damp cloth onto the Masterpiece and Gently rub, then Rinse with a Damp Cloth. You’ll be amazed to see that your child’s Artwork is gone and your wall is back to its original clean state.
  2. Water Rings on your Coffee table or Surface. No problem. Squeeze some Toothpaste onto the Affected area and scrub it with a Toothbrush. You may need to Rinse with a Damp Cloth and Repeat this process a few times, but once finished, you will have a free surface.
  3. Now this one’s accessible: Bathroom Sinks. Next time you’re Scrubbing away at your teeth, drop a blob of Toothpaste into the sink, Scrubbing it around the whole sink, then Rinse. Not only does this give it a Gleam, but it also makes the drain smell Minty Fresh.
  4. Toilets bleach is Normally used for this particular place, but Bleach has a strong smell and can Linger for days. So I’d suggest grabbing your usual Toilet scrubbing brush and Squeeze a Fair amount of Toothpaste onto it. Now scrub under the Rim and around the Entire Toilet Bowl. This will help Remove Limescale; it smells much better than bleach.
  5. Steam irons: Mineral deposits in water can stain an Iron’s Soleplate, making it look Rough, Grubby and Old. All you need to do to Restore this is Apply a blob of toothpaste and work it into the plate with a circular motion, then use a clean cloth to remove any residue—shiny, smooth, clean soleplate.
  6. Yellowing Piano Keys: for all you musicians out there, you will know that the piano keys can become Yellow or Colour after a while. These can be Restored simply with a Whitening Toothpaste. This time, rub each piano key gently with a damp cotton swab and a blob of toothpaste (whitening), then wipe dry and give it a Buff with a clean Cloth. The keys should be nice, and White once finished.
  7. Most taps are Chrome, and if you’ve noticed them getting Water Marks from Splashes and Spills, Toothpaste has the answer. Rub some onto the Chrome and Wipe away with a Damp Cloth, and you will see your Chrome Shine and Shimmer again.
  8. When you leave the Shower and go to Admire yourself in the Mirror, you can never see because of the Steam Misting it up. Toothpaste will act as a Defogger so that you can see. Just Smear some Toothpaste directly to the Mirror and Dry. Wipe it off. This will allow you to Admire yourself.
  9. Patio furniture: This one will require a Scrubbing brush and some Will power, but once you’ve Scrubbed a Mixture of Toothpaste and Water over your Furniture, you’ll be Amazed at the Results. If you have White Furniture, you can even use some Whitening Toothpaste to Restore the Whiteness.
  10. Jewelry: this one is a personal favourite. After being worn for many years, all jewellery can lose its shine and glitz. How to Clean with Vinegar

Cleaning with Vinegar Tackles

This week, we will look at how to use Vinegar to Tackle Everyday Cleaning Situations. This is possible due to the Antibacterial and Antimicrobial Properties Vinegar has. Some of these methods may work, and some may not. Not all have been tried and tested by myself, but I will try them eventually. I’ll keep you updated. Of course, you could always let me know if you have tried them or have any other Methods for Cleaning.

Okay, I have ten different ways of using Vinegar, so let’s get started.

  1. Microwave Cleaning – Place a Cup of Vinegar inside and heat up for 3-4 Minutes. Leave to sit for 30 Minutes. Remove the Cup of Vinegar and Wipe Clean. Use the Vinegar neat if you have slightly harder-to-clean areas.
  2. Water Rings on Wooden Surfaces – Add equal parts Vinegar and Vegetable Oil. Use this mixture to wipe away the Marks. This also works on Leather.
  3. Oven Grills – Spray the Vinegar onto the Grills and Scrub using a Wire Brush until Clean.
  4. Drainage – Kitchen or Bathroom Drains are usually quite Smelly. Pour a Cup of White Vinegar down the Sink and leave for an hour or so. After this, run the tap for a few seconds to flush the Vinegar away. Job Done!
  5. Kitchen or Bathroom Fixtures – Vinegar can be an Alternative Cleaner. It can Kill Bacteria, Mould, and mildew. Just spray onto the Fixtures and rinse afterwards. You can leave it to soak if needed, then wash.
  6. Cleaning the Fridge – Add 2 Cups of Vinegar to a Gallon of Warm Water. Use this mixture to clean the Fridge. Use Vinegar neat on the harder-to-clean areas.
  7. Clogged Shower Head – Fill a Bag, Like the ones you get from the Fair with Goldfish in, with Vinegar and Wrap it around the Shower Head. Please be sure to remove the Goldfish first 😉 Leave it there overnight, and it should be back to full power.
  8. Dull Silver – Add 2 Table Spoons of Baking Soda to a Cup of Vinegar. You can apply the Solution to the Silverware, but if possible, it’s better to leave it to soak for about 15 Minutes. Then Rinse with Warm Water and Polish up with a Soft Cloth.
  9. Rusty Tools – Anything you may have with Rust on should be left to Soak in Vinegar Overnight. Scrubbing off the Rust will now be a lot Easier.
  10. Sticky Label Removal – This works not only for Sticky Labels, Such as Price Tags, But also for the Residue left by Car Stickers and Window Decals. Spray the Area with Vinegar, wait a Few Minutes, and clean with a Towel or Cloth.
  11. Whitening Clothes – Add a Cup of Vinegar and a Quarter Cup of Baking Soda to your Washing. This will help with your Clothes.
  12. Ant Deterrent – Ants follow the scents left behind by other Ants. This means one Ant leads to another; before you know it, you have an Infestation! Spray Vinegar around Doors, Skirting, Windows, and the usual areas. This will get rid of the Scent left.
  13. Odors – Whether in the Bathroom, Kitchen or Mysterious Smell in the Car, Air Fresheners try to Mask Odours. The Acetic Acids in Vinegar Absorb these Odors rather than just trying to cover the Bad Smell with a Nicer Smell, Which is no Better than the Original Bad Smell. Granted, Air Fresheners Smell Nice, but not when Mixed with Rotten Food or a Drain Stench. You can either Spray the Vinegar or leave it in a Bowl to Rid those Bad Odours.

Cleaning Kitchen or Bathroom With Lemon

Microwave

Just squeeze Lemon Juice into some Water, even throw in the Rinds afterwards, and Microwave. You will soon notice the boiling liquid’s condensation appearing on the sides. The Natural Cleaning Agents in the Lemon Juice will Dissolve Dried foods and loosen any Gunk built up. Once done, You need to wipe it away with a Damp Cloth. Simple. This is very useful when it is time for the end of tenancy cleaning.

Here’s How It’s Done

  • Pour half a cup of water into a Bowl.
  • Cut a lemon into two halves. Squeeze as much Lemon Juice into the bowl of water. Once Squeezed, place the two halves into the Bowl as well.
  • Place the Bowl in the Microwave Microwave at Full Power for around 3-4 Minutes so the Liquid starts to Boil.
  • Leave the Bowl inside the Microwave for 5 minutes to allow the Steam inside to loosen the Food and Grime.
  • wipe clean with a Dry or Damp Cloth. If any Stubborn Spots are left over, you can just Wet the Cloth using the Lemon Water from the Bowl and give a little Scrub.

Copperware

Whether used in the Kitchen or purely for display purposes. Copper looks excellent when brought back to its Shiny Condition. You are likely to have these two ingredients in your pantry already. Lemon and Salt are a Great Combination when it comes to Cleaning. Add the Salt to a Sliced Lemon and use that Lemon to Scrub on the Pot, Pan, etc. You can squeeze the lemon into a bowl and add the Salt to make a Paste, which can be left to soak on stubborn dried-on foods.

  1. Slice Lemon in Half and use as though it were a Sponge or Cloth, adding Salt as often as needed until the area is Clean.
  2. Squeeze the Lemon into a Bowl and add Salt to form a Paste for Tougher areas. Apply the Paste to the Lemon and Scrub as needed. You can also leave the Paste to Soak in the more complex areas.
  3. Rinse thoroughly using warm Water and Dry Buffing with a Dry Clean Cloth for Best Results.

Please Note: This method does not work with Lacquered Copper. Please check before trying this method.

Wooden Chopping Board

Even when Cleaned after use, we recommend this method once a week if used regularly. You will see why by the Results. A Dirty Sludge that you will be scraping away after. Also, you can add some Baking Soda to the mix.

  1. Shake Salt over the Chopping Board.
  2. Using the cut side down of the Lemon, Scrub the Board and squeeze the Lemon while you do so.
  3. Once scrubbing the whole Board, leave the paste to soak for 10 Minutes.
  4. Scrape away the Paste.
  5. Give the Board a Rinse with Warm Water and Dry.

Worktop / Butchers Block

Removing Stains in itself can be a Challenge. Here are 2 Methods: One Being for Lighter Stains using the same Method as the Cutting Board and the Other for Darker Stains adding Hydrogen Peroxide and White Vinegar.

Lighter Stains

  • Shake Salt over the Stain, Covering all of it.
  • Slice the Lemon in half and squeeze the Juices into the Salt, Forming a Paste.
  • Rub the Paste into the Stain using the Half of the Lemon as a Scrubber.
  • Leave the Paste to soak overnight
  • Rinse off using Warm Water.

Darker Stains

  • Pour Warm Water into a Glass.
  • Add one tablespoon of Hydrogen Peroxide.
  • Dab All Over the Stain.
  • Dab again using White Vinegar.
  • You can now use the Salt and Lemon Method.
  • Wipe down thoroughly with a clean Cloth.

Blender

Blend a Lemon with some Dishwashing Liquid for a Sparkling Shiny Finish.

Cutlery

Again, use a Used Lemon to Polish up to StrFree Shine. Add Salt if you have any Rust marks appearing.

Plastic Tubs/Containers

Rub a Lemon over the sides to Clean and Remove Bad Smells. Rinse after.

Make Your Own All-Purpose Kitchen/Bathroom Cleaner

This works with Citrus, Lemon, Orange, Lime Peelings…  and Vinegar. Not only do the Citrus Peels Smell Great, but they also Provide Extra Cleaning Power.

  • Instead of throwing away the Peelings of your Citrus, Save them in a Large Sealable Jar.
  • When the Jar is Half Full, Fill the Jar with Vinegar. Seal the Jar again and leave somewhere for at least two weeks to allow the Citrus to Infuse with the Vinegar. The end-of-tenancy longer you leave it, the Better.
  • When ready to use, place a Fine Mesh Sieve over a Bowl and Pour the Liquid from the Jar into the Bowl. Dispose of the Peels.
  • Pour the Liquid from the Bowl into a Spray Bottle and use it as you would any other All-Purpose Cleaner.

Try this the next time you have to do the end-of-tenancy cleaning.

Removing Soap Scum

Soap Scum forms when the Soap Residue Combines with the Minerals in Tap Water. This Greyish/White Film layer covers itself on Tiles, Toilets, Floors, and Fixings. Try Slicing a Lemon in Half and Rubbing it over the Affected Areas. The Acids in the Citrus Fruits break down the Dirt and Bacteria. To avoid the build-up of Soap Scum, Always rinse thoroughly after each use.

Build Of Rust Stains

Rust begins to form when the Iron on the Bathroom or Kitchen fixtures erodes. Removing these Ugly Brown Stains as soon as they appear is important. Rubbing a Cut Lemon over these areas until they are gone is easy. If the Rust is worse, you can create a Paste by squeezing Lemon Juice into some Laundry Powder, then work into the rust area.

Stained Toilets

Using the same Paste Method above, Mixing Lemon Juice with Stain Remover Laundry Power, apply to a Scouring Sponge and Scrub that Toilet. It’s not the most enjoyable part of Cleaning, but it will be worth it. The Laundry Powder will help remove the Stains as it would to the Stains on your Clothes.

Mildew Remover

Mildew forms mostly in Damp, Warm environments, so the Bathroom is the most common place to find Mildew. In The Bathtub, Shower Cubicles, or Curtains. Mildew can harm your health if Exposed to too much, causing problems to the Respiratory System.

To Remove Mineral and Mildew Stains, Soak in Salty Water for 20-30 minutes. Rub the Stain with a Sliced Lemon. Rinse and Wipe Clean with a Wet Cloth or Sponge.

Glass / Window Cleaner

You can make your Glass or Window Cleaner by adding the Following Ingredients to a Spray Bottle of Water. ¼ Teaspoon of Dishwasher Liquid, ½ Cup of Rubbing Alcohol and 3 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice. Mix all these ingredients and Shake Well. That’s your very own Glass and window Cleaner without the Harsh Chemicals.

If you can’t handle all the dirt in your bathroom or kitchen with lemon, book our end of tenancy cleaning London service, and we will take care of them.
